SIC ICWC Held Open Lesson “Secrets of Clean Water” for Elementary School Children

On 23 February 2026, SIC ICWC held a special open lesson titled “Secrets of Clean Water” for first-grade schoolchildren at school No. 279 in Tashkent. Olga Borovkova conducted the lesson.

Through games and interactive activities, the youngest schoolchildren learned why water is one of the planet's most precious treasures and got known how to care the natural environment. At the end of the lesson, the children took a symbolic oath as 'Water Guardians', promising to look after water and the environment.

During the lesson, schoolchildren:

• find out why water purification is a complex and essential process;
• learned the “closed tap rule” and understood through visual examples how much water is wasted, for example, while brushing teeth;
• gained an understanding of water’s vital role in sustaining life on Earth;
• watched an educational film about the ecosystem of their native region.

The event marked an important first step in fostering environmental awareness among young learners and developing practical habits for the responsible attitude to natural resources.
