SIC ICWC Expert Contributes to TV Programs on Regional Cooperation and Water Diplomacy
As part of efforts to raise public awareness of rational water use, regional cooperation, and water diplomacy, an expert at SIC ICWC participated in a series of TV broadcasts on Uzbekistan’s leading state-owned and private TV channels.
During the broadcasts, speakers addressed current issues related to water management in Central Asia, the development of regional cooperation in transboundary river basins, the role of water diplomacy in strengthening regional water security, as well as emerging challenges associated with climate change and increasing water demand.
Particular attention was paid to the activities of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination (ICWC) of Central Asia, regional mechanisms of water cooperation, and Uzbekistan’s initiatives aimed at promoting constructive dialogue and expanding practical cooperation.

• “Sevimli” TV channel
During the talk-shows, the participants discussed efficient use of water resources, strengthening of water diplomacy as a tool for building trust among the Central Asian states, and the prospects for regional cooperation in the context of climate change and increasing pressure on water resources.
Participation of experts from regional organizations like SIC ICWC in these TV broadcasts contributes to promoting knowledge about water management, raising public awareness of regional water-related issues and processes, and strengthening public understanding of the importance of regional water cooperation.
