INBO WORLD LIAISON BUREAU
On October 18, SIC ICWC took part in the regular World Liaison Bureau meeting of the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO). The meeting was held under the presidency of the Kingdom of Morocco, on the sidelines of the 21th International Euro-INBO Conference in hybrid format.
The agenda included: INBO activity report, presentation of the new graphic identity, preparation of the 2024 Annual General Assembly, preparation of the WWF in Bali, May 2024, and regional network activity.
INBO Secretary General Mr. Erik Tardieu presented the current activities of the Network, preparations to the 10th World Water Forum, focusing on the basin segment of the Forum’s political process led by the Network, and spoke on thematic priorities of the next INBO World General Assembly to be held in Bordeaux in 2024.
INBO regional networks, particularly African Network of Basin Organizations (ANBO), Brazilian Network of Basin Organisations (REBOB), Mediterranean Network of Basin Organisations (MENBO), Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asian Network of Water-Management Organizations (EECCA NWO), and Network of Asian River Basin Organizations (NARBO) made presentations on their activities. In particular, Head of Division at SIC ICWC Oygul Usmanova presented the activities of EECCA NWO, outlined future activity directions and expected participation of the region in the 10 WWF.
