EXPEDITION TO THE AIDAR-ARNASAI LAKE SYSTEM
A group of experts from SIC ICWC undertook an expedition to the Aidar-Arnasai lake system from 29 April to 4 May. The aim was to observe conditions of hydraulic structures and the impact of flow from collecting drains and drainage on the status of the lake system, as well as to take measurements for mapping of the locality. Inflows to Tuzkan Lake and the eastern part of Arnasai were also studied.
The work was made with the assistance from the territorial branches of the Uzbek ministries for water management and ecology, environmental conservation and climate change.
Further, it is planned to analyze the collected data, samples and, based on this, make a detailed analysis report, which will be also submitted to the above ministries.
