ROUND TABLE ON PREPARATION OF THE SECOND READING OF THE WATER CODE
On 6 August, the Ministry of Water Management of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a round table on the preparation of the second reading of the Water Code of Uzbekistan. The event was attended by the senior management staff, representatives of the Ministry and its structural subdivisions (BISAs), Scientific-Information Center of Interstate Commission for Water Coordination of Central Asia (SIC ICWC), the Agency for Implementation of IFAS Projects in Uzbekistan and Research Institute of Irrigation and Water Problems. The meeting was held in a hybrid format (offline and online).
The draft Water Code was developed as a comprehensive legal document in the field of water resources and water use. In his speech, the Minister of Water Management Sh. Khamraev emphasized that the Code is a very important and historic document for all those whose lives are connected with the water sector of the Republic, and called for suggestions on how to improve it.
