WORKSHOP ON THE DRAFT WATER CODE OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
On 20 December 2024, the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a workshop on "Content and Relevance of the Draft Water Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the regulatory provisions outlined in the Code, evaluate the relevance of newly introduced measures, facilitate an exchange of comments and proposals with parliamentary deputies before the second reading of the Water Code.
The draft law "On Approval of the Water Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan," presented by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on 4 July 2024, has undergone initial consideration by the Legislative Chamber. The second reading of the draft Code is scheduled for January 2025.
The workshop was organized by the Agrarian and Water Committee of the Legislative Chamber and the Ministry of Water Management.
