MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE FRENCH DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
On 13 May 2025, a meeting was held at the French Development Agency (Agence Francaise de Developpement, AFD) office in Uzbekistan between the Deputy Director of SIC ICWC Mr. Sherzod Muminov and the Deputy Director of AFD Water and Sanitation Department Mr. Sebastien Valleur, Department's Team leader Ms. Eleonore Lebouvier and AFD Project manager in Tashkent Mr. Mumin Turaev. Mr. Alexander Dolidudko from SIC ICWC also participated in the meeting.
Sherzod Muminov briefly outlined SIC's mandate and activities, presented aims, objectives and the role of SIC in regional cooperation in Central Asia.
The parties also discussed the project proposal on the correction of boundaries of hydromodule zones in the Syr Darya River Basin based on remote sensing data and satellite technologies for mapping and its details, namely relevance of the proposed research, general project methodology and expected results.
Finally, the parties settled on signing the contract between SIC ICWC and AFD and starting the project since June this year.
