MEETING WITH THE WORL BANK DELEGATION
On May 22, 2025, SIC ICWC had a meeting with the delegation from the World Bank. The delegation led by Azad Abulkhamid, WB's lead water expert and project manager, included: Sh. Rakhmatullaev, water expert; D. Rozenberg, senior economist; B. Lankford, professor of water and irrigation policy; A. Gafurov, hydrologist, and Sh. Kenjabaev, national researcher at IWMI.
Deputy Director Sh. Muminov, G. Stulina and A. Dolidudko represented SIC ICWC.
The meeting was held as part of the technical mission of the Central Asia Water and Energy Program (CAWEP). The aim of the mission is conduct consultations on irrigation norms and hydromodule zoning through field trips and technical meetings with partners in Uzbekistan.
The parties exchanged views on necessary revision of hydromodule zones and crop irrigation regimes in the Aral Sea basin.
The SIC ICWC team presented a brief overview of their research, projects, and practical experience in this field. The WB's delegation has got comprehensive answers to all their questions. The parties agreed to continue their cooperation, with a particular focus on joint research on hydromodule zoning and crop irrigation scheduling.
