4th Meeting of the Joint Coordinating Committee: Review of SATREPS-2020 Project Results and Future Prospects

On 22-23 September, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted the 4th Joint Coordination Committee Workshop (JCC), bringing together representatives from Uzbekistan and Japan.

The workshop focused on reviewing the progress and outcomes of BLUE SATREPS project “Development of innovative climate-resilient technologies for monitoring and controlling water use efficiency and the impact of salinization on crop productivity and livelihoods in the Aral Sea region.”

During the event, Galina Stulina (SIC ICWC) delivered a presentation “Adaptation and modeling of a modern system for water monitoring under conditions of climate change and soil salinity in the Aral Sea region.” Participants also discussed the potential continuation of joint research efforts in Karakalpakstan, aiming to develop effective approaches for irrigating saline lands in collaboration with Japanese researchers.
